Hey there, it’s come to my attention that I’ve handed out hundreds of cards with briden@gmail.com on them, unfortunately, if you decided to email me and I haven’t communicated with you before, I probably did not get your message. Why? Unfortunately, my gmail accounts gets over 500 spam mails a week, and it’s just not realistic to search through them every day. If you really want to get ahold of me try briden (at) live (dot) ca for msn or general inquiries.

Time to chill out
Well, that was fun. Though I didn’t win at the DJ comp, I am happy anyway, as I consider a win for myself personally. I came out and rocked hard, challenged myself to deliver and did what I came to do. The goal was to meet people, play a club here with some slamming tracks and in that I succeeded, so I am happy overall. Congrats to the Angry Samoan!
Sp now it’s time for a switcharound, a litte more relaxing instead of hyping, a little more soundscapes instead of basslines if you will. I’ll be challenging myself again now, delving deep into psychill ambient ethnic type of music in preparation for the Entheos festival coming up in Crystal Creek BC this summer. I’ve always resonated with ambient music, lovely stuff, melodic and complex, drifting and cycling rythms, and alien vista’s are to become my soundtrack for the next month or so.
Life has been great, new friends, picnics in parks, firedancing and more.
Don’t miss Temple of the Dance this weekend!

Viva Tibet
Had a great time at the DJ comp, I have never played sets like that before for a live crowd, and it went over great. I thank my friends for hooking me up with some bomb ass tracks, heid, tyler, sally, jordan, you guys rock thank you so much. I also threw in some old favorites from my heavy crowd disturber box, as well as good representation of the new Richmond Records tracks I’ve got on promo.
But there was one track, a gem, a bomb, that’s brand new and made the crowd shudder with joy, want to know what it was?
FreQ Nasty vs Bassnectar - Viva Tibet (East and West mix)
This track is FREE, and was created to raise awareness for the March to Tibet Campaign, I’d like to say THANKS to my favorite producer lorin ashton, as well as freqnasty for releasing what’s sure to be the bomb track of the summer, free of charge, they are truly giving back, and now I pay it forward by passing to you, if y’aint already heard you must be livin’ under a rock!
You can get it free here: http://www.giveback.net/
Tibet needs us now more than ever, the whole world needs you more than ever, I feel SO honored to be one of the fortunate few in the world where the situation is not thaat bad yet, and where I have the freedom to speak out, the freedom to choose, the freedom to think, the freedom to act. You have those freedoms too, do not ever let anyone tell you otherwise. Please do take some time to look at the giveback.net site and maybe make a donation or take SOME action toward improving the world TODAY.
In the immortal words of Zack del la Rocha:
It has to start somewhere It has to start sometime
What better place than here, what better time than now?

bass in yo face
Well, I’ve been practicing hard for this DJ comp, should be fun. Tonight I let loose and ignored the thumping on the roof upstairs from the neighbours for a while past 10. well uhm, the police are here. I was just in some sort of 7th heaven behind the decks and they said they had calls from 3 different units of my complex. apparently my neighbours are not so fond of transcendant bassforms. go figure *shrug*
I told the cops it wasn’t my fault, that bass addiction is a disease just like cancer and alcoholism and once they had a govt approved 12 step program to relieve me of my addiction that I would gladly sign up. In the meantime they would like to speak to the likes of freqnasty, stickybuds, antipop, and lorin for trafficking in highly subversive frequencies.
I’m such a bassjunkie, shit, this stuff is addictive, be careful kids.
